. . Borg Assimilation:(2/20/2000) We played a new game called Borg Assimilationdesigned by Brian Smith.   Two teams divide up, green team andred team.  The team is indicated by a switchable red or green lighton the head sensor.  Now that the queen Borg is dead, two rival Borgteams are trying to become head of the hive.  Basically, it's a combat-stylegame, but one of the players on each team has a resurrection stick. As, lets say, a green player is tagged out, the player must stand in theirspot and wait to be touched with a stick by either the red team or greenteam.   If a tagged out green player is touched by the greenstick, he resurrects and comes back to life as a green player.  Ifthe player with the red stick touches the tagged out green player, he nowchanges his sensor light color to red and plays for the red team. The players with the stick need to be protected since if they are killed, the resurrection powers are gone.  Basically, they players with thestick hang back a ways and runs in when needed and tries not to get killed. Once both teams are one color, the game is over.  These games go fairlyfast.  We played one game of this and we were hooked!  We spentthe remaining 1.5 hours playing Borg Assimilation.  There is a lotof strategy involved in this game.

Napkin-Head!

On Aug. 14, 1999, we had our 2ndFort Worden game of the Summer.  We had 12 players attend and we playedseveral new scenario games.  One favorite game was called napkin-head. The teams were divided up where one team wore a paper napkin in their headsensor webbing while the other team had none.  Once one player wastagged out, the player switched teams.  When the napkin-head teamor non-napkin head team won all of the players, the game was over. We played several types of games that day from 12:00 noon to 8:00 pm. We were all exhausted by the end of the day, but we all had a great time!

On March 21st, we will play our first scenario game ofthe tagging season.  We call it "Air Force One".  A rebel Generalhas taken over the former Soviet country of Kakistan.  A small groupof American commandos are sent to penetrate the General's palace, capturethe General and bring him back to the Landing Zone where they will rendevouswith an extraction helicopter.  The team has 20 minutes to get thegeneral, kill as many guards as possible (preferably all of them consideringthat they will pursue the commandos), and make it back to the chopper towin the game.  A plot device prop has been built with a 20 minutetimer and loud helicopter sounds that will last only one minute to simulatethe extraction chopper.  Note: the helicopter prop has a sensor andcan be shot down.
